Veterans Evaluation Liaison Officers (VELOs)
IWA has immediate openings for Veterans Evaluation Liaison Officer (VELO) candidates in Olney, MD. The selected VELOs will be responsible for providing Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) program support services to the Army’s North Atlantic Region Medical Center (NaRMC) to include but not necessarily be limited to assistance with the planning and management of Veterans' TDRL re-examinations and the preparation of their case files for review by the Army Physical Evaluation Board (PEB).
Responsibilities
- Administrative Review of Veterans' TDRL Case Files
- Regular Empathic Outreach to and Communications with Veterans on the TDRL
- Scheduling of TDRL Re-Examinations, As May Be Required
- Evaluation and Reporting of Examination Results
- Case File Data Integration and Compilation into a Consolidated Medical Report (CMR) for Each Veteran
Candidate(s) will adhere to established TDRL principles and policies, and have deep familiarity with the methods, processes and tools required to achieve and sustain TDRL case flow to ensure customer satisfaction and overall success of the project. The selected individuals will also exhibit:
- Strong Organizational, Oral and Written Communications Skills
- An Understanding of Time-Sensitivity, and the Capacity to Effectively Manuever Between Multiple Information Sources
- An Ability to Multi-Task, Prioritizing Assigned Activities to Ensure Maximum Efficiency
- An Aptitude and Ability to Conduct Research-Oriented Data Abstraction and Analysis
Qualifications
- Demonstrated background and experience in medical records coding, review and management (preferred but not necessary).
- Military Health System experience (desired).
Employment is contingent upon the ability to successfully obtain PEB Liaison Officer (PEBLO) certification within 30 days of the date of hire. The ability to pass a National Agency Level Clearance (NALC) investigation is also required.
