Military and Veterans Health Programs

The toll on American military personnel of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has been, and continues to be, well-documented. As outcomes, many Warriors in Transition suffer from physical and psychological impairments that range from loss of limbs to traumatic brain injury (TBI), anxiety, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and suicide. Ensuring that transitioning veterans receive the optimal care and ancillary services that will enable them to positively rejoin families and society at-large is of paramount concern to everyone in the U.S. Therefore, the vision, implementation strategy, tactical processes, services and support requirements driving military health programs must be consistently aligned, and regularly assessed for their realism and effectiveness.
