Business Compliance

IWA's corporate experience encompasses many successful projects. Several have been business compliance reviews for both large and medium-sized governmental organizations. As an outcome, IWA has gained a strong working knowledge of such legislative mandates as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Medicare/Medicaid Modernization Act (MMA), and Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as other Federal government initiatives related to Pandemic Influenza (PanFlu) Preparedness, Urban Area Security, and Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) access.

For example, IWA has provided support to the DC Interagency Lead Coordination Task Force.  We assisted the establishment and sustainment of a health awareness and education campaign that focused on the risks of child lead poisoning.  Our work also involved chairing discussions between the affected District Government agencies, community leaders, children’s health advocates, and others to identify where and how the city’s Lead Control Program had become functionally misaligned with its core objectives, and the development of a corrective yet unified Lead Poison Response Strategy.

The lessons learned by IWA are the basis for a number of tools and templates that we have developed  and continue to refine.  These artifacts enable the collection and study of data needed to help an organization sift through the minutiae and arrive at, as appropriate, sensible actionable steps to governmental and business conformance.
